The present invention features a method of treating acne or rosacea on the skin by applying electricity to skin in need of such treatment wherein said electricity is generated by a first conductive electrode in electric communication with a second conductive electrode, wherein both the first conductive electrode and the second conductive electrode are in ionic communication with the skin, wherein the difference of the standard potentials of the first conductive electrode and the second conductive electrode is at least 0.2 V and wherein the electrons that pass between the first conductive electrode and the second conductive electrode are generated as a result of such difference of the standard potentials.본 발명은 제2 전도성 전극과 전기에 의해 소통하는 제1 전도성 전극에 의해 발생하는 전기를 여드름 또는 장미여드름(rosacea)의 치료가 필요한 피부에 적용함을 포함하는, 피부의 여드름 또는 장미여드름의 치료방법에 관한 것으로, 제1 전도성 전극과 제2 전도성 전극은 둘 다 피부와 이온에 의해 소통하고, 제1 전도성 전극과 제2 전도성 전극의 표준 전위차는 0.2V 이상이며, 제1 전도성 전극과 제2 전도성 전극 사이를 통과하는 전자는 표준 전위차의 결과로서 생성된다.
