PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface sheet for absorbent articles which reduces damage to a skin by further reducing the area in contact with the skin of a wearer, by further imparting density gradients of fibers, and by further reducing sticky feeling and stuffiness.SOLUTION: The surface sheet 1A of the absorbent articles is configured by joining a lower layer 3 including a heat-shrinkable fiber and an upper layer 2 provided on the lower layer 3 by a plurality of thermal adhesion embosses 4 provided regularly and by thermally shrinking the heat-shrinkable fiber. The surface sheet 1A has a plurality of large protruding parts 6a and small protruding parts 6b which are surrounded by a plurality of the thermal adhesion embosses 4 and have a three-dimensional dome structure of two kinds in sizes on the surface on the side of the upper layer 2. The large protruding parts 6a and the small protruding parts 6b are formed into a polygonal shape surrounded by the plurality of thermal adhesion embosses 4. A bottom area of the large protruding part 6a of the surface sheet 1A is twice or more that of the small protruding part 6b. The height at a vertex 61 of the large protruding part 6a in the surface sheet 1A is greater than the height at a vertex 62 of the small protruding part 6b.
