PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floating virus removal unit capable of promptly inactivating viruses caught which are irrespective of the presence of an envelope and highly maintaining antiviral properties.SOLUTION: The virus removal unit which removes viruses containing a gas includes: at least a first electrode, a second electrode and a dielectric provided, and a plasma generation part for generating plasma by applying a voltage between the first electrode and the second electrode to generate electric discharge and a virus inactivating part containing particles having antiviral properties arranged in a space existing plasma generated by the plasma generation part.
