PURPOSE: A method for preparing deodorized and decolored fucoidan is provided to effectively eliminate the strong odor and heavy color of seaweed while the phytonutrient component of the fucoidan is maintained. CONSTITUTION: Light is radiated to fucoidan solution at the temperature between 40 and 80 degrees Celsius for 3 to 4 hours in order to decolor the fucoidan solution. The light is selected from a group including solar light, ultraviolet ray, visible ray, and infrared ray. The decolored fucoidan solution is in contact with an adsorbing agent in order to deodorize the fucoidan solution. The absorbing agent is selected from a group including activated carbon, silica-gel, diatomite, zeolite, bentonite, alumina, charcoal, and the mixture of the same.본 발명은 탈색 및 탈취된 후코이단의 제조방법에 관한 것으로서, 더욱 상세하게는 광조사 및 흡착제를 동시에 이용하거나 한외여과막을 이용한 탈색 및 탈취된 후코이단의 제조방법에 관한 것이다. 상기 탈색 및 탈취된 후코이단의 제조방법은 (a) 40~80℃의 온도에서 후코이단 용액에 광을 조사하여 탈색시키는 단계； 및 (b) 상기 탈색된 후코이단 용액을 흡착제와 접촉시켜 후코이단의 향을 탈취시키는 단계를 포함한다. 본 발명에 따른 탈색 및 탈취된 후코이단의 제조방법을 이용할 경우, 후코이단이 지닌 다양한 생리활성 성분은 그대로 유지하면서, 해조류의 강한 향과 짙은 색만을 간단하고, 효과적으로 제거할 수 있으며, 이로부터 제조된 후코이단은 환자나 어린이 등 해조류의 향과 색에 민감한 사람들을 대상으로 한 후코이단 함유 제품 제조에 유용하게 이용될 수 있다.
