An agricultural vehicle train includes a tractor, a rotary cutter, and a hitchassembly couplingthe rotary cutter to the tractor. The hitch assembly includes a firstconnection interfaceattaching the hitch assembly to the tractor anda second connection interfaceattaching thehitch assembly to the rotary cutter. The hitch assembly includes a suspensionelementcoupled between the first and second connection interfaces to mitigate forcetransferresulting from relative vertical movement； a mounting plate forming at least aportion of thesecond connection interface； and a pivot plate with a first end coupled to thefirst connectioninterface and a second end coupled to the suspension element. The pivot platefurtherincludes a pivot element such that the pivot plate pivots about the pivotelement relative tothe mounting plate.
