PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost and motor-driven stapler to form a series of surgical fasteners in a tissue.SOLUTION: A surgical stapler 10 includes: a housing 12 having a fixed handle 65； and a movable handle 60 mounted to the housing 12 and selectively movable relative to the fixed handle 65 from a first position to a second position which is closer to the fixed handle 65 to actuate the clamping of tissue. The stapler further includes: a drive assembly 20 including a power source and a motor 144 which engages a coupling member 90 operably connected to the movable handle 60.
