PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved X-ray CT apparatus allowing downsizing and excellent in operation.SOLUTION: For the purpose of obtaining a cross-sectional image of a sample by X-ray, an X-ray CT apparatus includes: an X-ray generator for irradiating X-ray to the sample an X-ray detector for detecting the X-ray having transmitted through the sample and a device for reconstituting a cross-sectional image or a three-dimensional image of the interior of the sample by processing detection signals from the X-ray detector in addition to an opening provided for introducing the sample at one end side, and further includes: an X-ray shielding member applied with an X-ray protective treatment in the entire circumference and means for rotationally driving the X-ray shielding member.
