A support apparatus for positioning a patient's head in an imaging apparatus. A main body has opposing first and second sides and supports first and second holding members for positioning against the patient's head. The first holding member has a first reference position along the first side of the main body and is coupled to a first transport apparatus that extends outward from the main body. The second holding member has a second reference position along the second side of the main body and is coupled to a second transport apparatus that extends outward from the main body. An extension locking mechanism within the main body locks the position of the second transport apparatus when the first holding member is moved from the first reference position and locks the position of the first transport apparatus when the second holding member is moved from the second reference position.L'invention concerne un appareil de positionnement de la tête d'un patient dans un appareil d'imagerie. Un corps principal présente des premiers et deuxièmes côtés opposés et supporte des premiers et deuxièmes éléments de maintien destinés à se positionner contre la tête du patient. Le premier élément de maintien présente une première position de référence le long du premier côté du corps principal et est couplé à un premier appareil de transport qui s'étend vers l'extérieur du corps principal. Le deuxième élément de maintien présente une deuxième position de référence le long du deuxième côté du corps principal et est couplé à un deuxième appareil de transport qui s'étend vers l'extérieur du corps principal. Un mécanisme de blocage de l'extension dans le corps principal bloque la position du deuxième appareil de transport lorsque le premier élément de maintien est déplacé de la première position de référence et bloque la position du premier appareil de transport lorsque le deuxième élément de maintien est déplacé de la deuxième position de référence.
