PROCESS OF PRODUCING AN ANTI-FUNGAL HERBAL OINMENT FROM KATAKATAKA (BRYOPHYLLUM PINNATUM (LAM.) OKEN) LEAVES, MAKABUHAY (TINOSPORA CRISPA (L.) HOOK.F. and THOMSON) STEMS AND GINGER (ZINGIBER OFFICINALE) RHIZOMES
A process of producing an anti-fungal herbal ointment from Katakataka (Bryophyllum pinnatum (Lam.) Oken) leaves, Makabuhay (Tinospora crispa (L.) Hook.f. and Thomson) stems and ginger (Zingiber officinale) rhizomes comprising the steps of: 1.) washing and rinsing Katakataka leaves, Makabuhay stems and ginger rhizomes; 2.) weighing pre-determined amount of Katakataka leaves, Makabuhay stems, ginger rhizomes, vegetable oil and candle wax; 3.) cutting Katakataka leaves, Makabuhay stems and ginger rhizomes into small pieces and grating candle wax; 4.) heating the vegetable oil into near boiling point; 5.) frying sliced/comminuted Katakataka leaves, Makabuhay stems and ginger rhizomes until deep-brown in color or crispy in texture; 6.) straining the plant parts leaving the hot herbal oil in the pan; 7.) adding grated candle wax into the hot herbal oil until wax melts; 8.) leaving the mixture to cool and pouring into a container and seal; and 9.) storing the herbal ointment at room temperature.
