Trans-dermal and trans-mucosal penetration of the Invention is enhanced by the spontaneous formation of terpene micelle nanosomes upon contact with water, sweat or saliva. These nanosomes may encapsulate active ingredients, and facilitate their extracellular and intracellular delivery and systemic circulation, resulting in reduced losses of certain active ingredients due to first-pass metabolism. Lower effective dosage rates may be achieved for certain active ingredients such as sensations, flavours, scents, and high first-pass medications.
