PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam sterilizer which aims at efficiently excluding air from the inside of a sterilization tub in a short time without superfluously condensing steam.
SOLUTION: In an air exclusion method from the inside of the sterilization tub in which a sterilized object is held, after purging operation S11 which performs a steam supply to the inside of the sterilization tub while enabling exhaust from the inside of the sterilization tub by a differential pressure from atmospheric pressure, in a condition of stopping the exhaust and the steam supply, decompression operation S12 of the inside of the sterilization tub is performed. Steam by the purging operation S11 does not superfluously produce condensed water since it reevaporates under decompression by the decompression operation S12. Moreover, by the purging operation S11, the temperature rising of the sterilized object and the air exclusion of the inside of the sterilization tub can be performed in parallel.
