Disclosed is an optical tracking system. The optical system can track a target object by detecting an accurate spatial location and the accurate direction of the target object regardless of distance of the target object. Therefore, not only an area to which the optical tracking system is applied can be significantly widened but also a marker unit can be manufactured to have a significantly reduced size compared to a conventional marker. Consequently, the optical system can be miniaturized.측정하고자 하는 목적물의 거리와 관계없이 목적물의 정확한 공간위치와 방향을 검출하여 트랙킹할 수 있는 옵티컬 트랙킹 시스템이 개시된다. 상기 옵티컬 트랙킹 시스템은 측정하고자 하는 목적물의 거리와 관계없이 목적물의 정확한 공간위치와 방향을 검출하여 트랙킹할 수 있으므로 가용 영역을 대폭 넓힐 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 종래의 마커에 비하여 마커유닛의 크기를 대폭 줄여 제작할 수 있으므로 장비를 소형화시킬 수 있는 효과가 있다.
