The disclosed laryngeal mask airway device (500) includes an inflatable cuff(130) and an airway tube (510). The inflatable cuff defines a central opening(136) at least when inflated. The cuff is insertable through a mouth of apatient to an inserted location within the patient. The cuff surrounds aglottic opening of the patient when the cuff is inflated and at the insertedlocation. The airway tube extends from a proximal end (512) to a distal end(514). The airway tube defines an internat passage, an anterior portion(510f), a posterior portion (51 Op), a left portion (510-left), and a rightportion (510-right). An airway passage extends from the proximal end of thetube through the internai passage to the glottic opening when the cuff isinflated and at the inserted location. The anterior portion is characterizedby a thinner wall thickness than the left and right portions. The posteriorportion is characterized by a thinner wall thickness than the left and rightportions.
