The present invention relates to mouseear cress bZIP4 gene promoter (Sequence number 1) inducing the root specific expression in a plant, a plant root specific expression vector including the promoter, and a method of expressing foreign genes in the plant root by using the vector. The promoter for directing the plant root specific expression according to the present invention induces specific expression in plant root tissues other than the other tissues. Accordingly, the promoter induces genetic expression only in the root tissues other than the other tissues during the vegetation period and the harvest period of plants, thereby being able to harvest storage roots with superior characters, or to be effectively used in development of transformed plants to produce useful protein from the identical tissue.본 발명은 식물체에서 뿌리 조직 특이적 발현을 유도하는 애기장대 bZIP4 유전자 프로모터(서열번호 1), 상기 프로모터를 포함하는 식물체 뿌리 조직 특이 발현 벡터 및 상기 벡터를 이용하여 외래 유전자를 식물체의 뿌리 조직에서 발현시키는 방법에 관한 것이다. 상기한 본 발명에 의한 식물 뿌리 특이적 발현 프로모터는 식물체 뿌리 조직에서만 다른 조직보다 특이적으로 발현을 유도한다. 따라서 이 프로모터는 식물의 영양생장기와 수확기에 다른 조직을 제외한 뿌리 조직에서만 유전자 발현을 유도하여 우수 형질의 저장뿌리를 수확하거나, 동일 조직에서 유용 단백질을 생산하고자 하는 형질전환 식물체 개발에 효과적으로 이용될 수 있다.
