A step system including a patient support member having a deployable stepassemblyincluding a deployable step. The deployable step assembly is fixed andintegral to the patientsupport member and is configured to deploy as needed to provide a sturdyplatform for at leastone medical professional in a standing position while performing medicalprocedures on apatient. The deployable step assembly may include deployable steps on both aright-side and aleft-side of the patient support member.
