[Problem] To provide a method for not only separating plastic components and non-plastic components, but also separating and recovering the components suitable for oil recovery from among the plastic components, the method being widely applicable to a large variety of plastic-based composite waste. [Solution] Provided is a method for separating and recovering plastic-based composite waste, wherein while treating plastic-based composite waste, particularly plastic-based composite waste obtained by combining various thermoplastic plastics, thermosetting plastics, and non-plastic components, in order to separate and recover the respective components thereof, a dissolving resin is melted to obtain a reaction melt using an ethylene glycol species as a reaction initiator, and plastic-based components and non-plastic-based components are melted and separated using the reaction melt as a separation solvent, and the plastic-based components are separated into floating components, dissolving components, and settling components, and are recovered.
