Described herein is a nanoparticle drug conjugate (NDC) comprising a nontoxic multimodal clinically proven silica-based nanoparticle platform with covalently attached drug molecules / moieties in certain embodiments. Nanoparticle drug conjugates (NDCs) represent targeting ligands and imaging capabilities that are effectively cleared throughout the kidney.
