The present invention relates to a medicament delivery device (10) comprising a housing (12, 14)； a medicament container holder (112), arranged movable in relation to said housing (12, 14) and capable of accommodating a medicament container (114)； an activator (164) comprising a plunger rod (172), which plunger rod (172) is arranged to be moved in the proximal direction of the medicament delivery device by the activator (164) to act on a stopper (120) of the medicament container (114) for delivering a dose of medicament through a medicament delivery member (126) when said activator (164) is operated. The invention is characterised in a delay mechanism (176) arranged between the activator (164) and the plunger rod (172), provided with delay elements (180, 182) allowing movement of the activator (164) in the proximal direction after movement of the plunger rod (172) has terminated.
