To provide a plant cultivation method capable of efficiently increasing a betacyanine content in a plant body by using a nutriculture method.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for cultivating vegetables having a betacyanine generation mechanism, in which a nutritious liquid is supplied, the nutritious liquid comprises at least one kind selected from a metal ion cofactor, a precursor in a betacyanine synthetic route, and saccharide, by 0.1 mM or more and 50.0 mM or less.
