The method involves conveying powder or particulate bulk material from an outlet opening (8) of a storage container (1) by a conveyor device (10). The material is provided to container parts (2a, 2b) from top via outlets (13a, 13b). A predetermined maximum of a filling level of the material in the parts is detected. One of the outlets associated to one of the parts whose filling level is high, is automatically blocked, and the material is provided to the other part whose filling level is low, via the other outlet as soon as the filling level of the former part reaches the maximum. An independent claim is also included for a device for conveying powder or particulate bulk material from a storage container into a working container.
