The present invention provides a film-form base havingone or more sugars or sugar alcohols dispersed as fine particlestherein, and also provides a film-form preparation containingthe base and a drug. The base is produced by dispersing, inan organic solvent having a solubility parameter of 9.7 orhigher, an edible polymer soluble in water and the organicsolvent, and particles of one or two or more compounds selectedfrom the group consisting of mono- to hexasaccharide sugars andsugar alcohols thereof which have an average particle size of0.1 µm to 60 µm and are insoluble in an organic solvent. Thepresent invention can therefore provide oral film-form base andpreparation which have a rapid dissolution profile in the mouthand sufficient film strength, and provide a reduced stickysensation attributed to the water-soluble polymer in the mouthand an improved feel when handled with the fingers.
