PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply the brakes when a stretchable pipe has shrunken during working, in an electric working machine having a stretchable rod capable of being brought to be compact in conveyance and housing.SOLUTION: An electric working machine includes a control unit for controlling the rotation of a motor, a fixing unit 3 to which a handle 41 is installed, and a movable unit 4 sliding against the fixing unit 3 and held to be stretchable, and the movable unit 4 has a cutting blade 155 driven by a motor on the tip of a movable pipe 80 connected to the fixing unit 3, wherein a detection means for detecting if the movable unit 4 is positioned at a predetermined extended position against the fixing unit 3 is installed, and a breaking force is applied to the motor, when the change of a position from a non-extended position to an extended position is detected during rotation of the motor. The control unit continues breaking of the motor when a trigger switch 44 is in a state of being pulled, and the motor is not brought to restart until the stretched state is released and the trigger switch 44 is pulled again after it is once released.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】運搬時、収納時にコンパクトにできる伸縮式竿を有する電動作業機において、作業中に伸縮パイプが縮んでしまったらブレーキをかけるようにする。【解決手段】モータの回転を制御する制御部と、ハンドル41が設けられた固定部3と、固定部3に対してスライドして伸長可能に保持される可動部4を有し、可動部4は固定部3に連結される可動パイプ80の先端にモータで駆動される刈刃155を有する電動作業機であって、可動部4が固定部3に対して所定の伸長位置に位置づけられたか検出する検出手段を設け、モータの回転中に非伸長位置から伸長位置に切り替わったことが検出されたらモータに制動力を作用させる。制御部はトリガスイッチ44が引かれたままの時にはモータの制動を継続させ、伸縮状態が解除され且つトリガスイッチ44が一端解除されてから再度引かれるまでモータを再起動させないようにした。【選択図】 図1
