PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-assisted ultrasonic velocity variation imaging device capable of displaying correct tomograms of ultrasonic velocity variations.SOLUTION: The light-assisted ultrasonic velocity variation imaging apparatus 1 with an ultrasonic velocity analysis section 8 obtaining variations in the velocity of ultrasonic with respect to light irradiation to an observation area and displaying them as tomograms relating to the distribution of variations in the velocity of ultrasonic on the basis of a nonirradiation time ultrasonic echo signal received from the observation area when not irradiating with light and a post-light irradiation ultrasonic echo signal received from the observation area after light irradiation, includes an envelope data extraction section 14 extracting the envelope of a signal waveform of an ultrasonic echo signal after and before light irradiation, and an interesting signal section extraction section 15 extracting an interesting signal section in a signal waveform of an ultrasonic echo signal before and after light irradiation on the basis of the extracted envelope.
