The present invention relates to a heater for a medical purpose. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a tunnel type heater, by installing a thermo-element along the circumference of the inner space of the heater, thereby increasing the heat energy efficiency of the inner space by the thermal emission surface area of the thermo-element, and at the same time protecting the skin of a user by the heat absorption surface area of the thermo-element when the temperature of the inner space increases, for improving the radiant efficiency of far-infrared radiation. According to the present invention, provided is a heater which includes a tunnel type hemispherical main body, an insulation part attached to the inner surface of the main body, a thermo-mat installed inside the inner space of the main body, to be positioned at a lower layer of the insulation part, while radiating heat and infrared ray, and a thermo-element installed along the circumference of the thermo-mat. The thermal emission surface area of the thermo-element is in contact with the thermo-mat, and the thermal absorption surface area of the thermo-element is arranged toward the inner space of the main body. When power is applied to the thermo-mat and thermo-element, the inner space is radiated with heat and infrared ray by the thermal emission surface area of the thermo-element and thermo-mat, and the heat and the infrared ray are delivered to the body of a user.
