Methods and systems are provided for packing reporter nucleic acid molecules used as reporter molecules into non-replicating transduced particles. Non-replicating transduced particles are composed of viruses and can utilize viral transduction and replication systems. Reporter nucleic acid molecules include reporter genes, such as reporter molecules or selectable markers, for detecting target genes or target cells.
