Sod seeder having a frame (1, 8), running wheels (5) and an assigned supply container, there being arranged on the frame (1, 8) tined shares, such as chisel shares, forked-chisel shares, cultivator shares or chisel shares (12) offset at a distance one behind the other in at least three transverse rows or disc shares which can be loaded by a share pressure of at least up to 100 kg and are arranged offset at a distance one behind the other in at least two transverse rows, characterised by the combination of the following features: - the frame exhibits a basic frame (1), having a width B of not more than 3 m, and side frames (8) which are articulated on both sides of said basic frame by means of swivel joints (9) and have seed coulters (12) arranged thereon, - the running wheels (5) of the sod seeder are arranged behind the basic frame (1) with a maximum outer spacing L of 3 m - the pneumatic distributor system exhibits one or more distributor heads (20) which are arranged in front of or behind the basic frame (1) or in the central part of the basic frame (1) (Fig. 4). <IMAGE>
