The present invention relates to a binding molecule capable of specifically binding to Lrig-1 protein, which is a protein present on the surface of regulatory T cells. The binding molecule provided by the present invention activates the function of regulatory T cells to induce diseases caused by excessive activation and expression of various immune cells and inflammatory cells, such as autoimmune diseases and transplantation. Immune related diseases such as one-versus-host disease, organ transplant rejection, asthma, atopy, or acute or chronic inflammatory diseases can be effectively prevented, ameliorated or treated. In addition, the binding molecule, preferably an antibody, specific to the Lrig-1 protein according to the present invention is more effective against the Lrig-1 protein as compared with an antibody against Lrig-1 that has been already commercially sold.
