The invention relates to a stocking puller (1) for stockings (12), comprising a holding part (30) for holding and extending a stocking (12) and an actuating part (40) having a gripping region (10) for handling the holding part (30), the holding part (30) comprising at least two upper, elastic and substantially parallel oriented arms (4) and at least two lower, elastic and substantially parallel oriented arms (3) pivoted out of the plane of the actuating part (40), the arms (3, 4) being connected to each other (2) in the front region of the arms. The stocking puller (1) according to the invention is characterized in that a loading device (6) is provided, by means of which the arms (3) and/or the arms (4) can be stretched apart from each other in the Y direction in the region between the connection (2) and the gripping region (10). The invention can be operated by persons having limited abilities with regard to the force, coordination, freedom of movement, skill and experience of said persons, while sitting or lying, without assistance or by a second person. The use is particularly simple and intuitive and can be accomplished with little application of force. The loading apparatus (6) can be actuated with a small force, which is as constant as possible. The stretching of the stocking (12) can be individually adapted to the leg of the user, and the stocking (12) can be put on in a stress-free manner in the longitudinal direction of the leg.
