A composite floral sphere (10) to receive and maintain fresh cut vegetation (24) in a floral arrangement is presented. The composite floral sphere (10) includes a core (12) of a first hydrophobic material, such as urethane foam. That core (12) is fully encased by a shell (14) bonded to the core (12), the shell (14) being made of a hydrophilic or wettable material such as a wettable phenolic foam. A support rod (16) including an enlarged head at one end and a receiving hook or ring at the other passes diametrically through the sphere (10). Fresh cut flowers or other vegetation have their stems (26) cut to a length which is less than the thickness or depth of the shell (14) of wettable material, the cut stems (26) being inserted into the shell (14) and receiving moisture therefrom when the shell (14) is hydrated.Linvention concerne une sphère florale (10) composite destinée à recevoir et à conserver des végétaux coupés frais (24) dans un arrangement floral. La sphère florale (10) composite comprend un cœur (12) fait dun premier matériau hydrophobe, comme une mousse duréthane. Ce cœur (12) est entièrement renfermé dans une coque (14) lié au cœur (12), la coque (14) étant faite dun matériau hydrophile ou mouillable comme une mousse phénolique mouillable. Une tige de support (16) comprenant une tête élargie à une extrémité et un crochet ou un anneau de réception à lautre extrémité passe à travers la sphère (10) le long de son diamètre. On coupe les tiges (26) de fleurs coupés fraîches ou dautres végétaux à une longueur qui est inférieure à lépaisseur ou à la profondeur de la coque (14) de matériau mouillable, les tiges coupées (26) étant insérées dans la coque (14) et recevant de lhumidité de celle-ci lorsque la coque (14) est hydratée.
