An apparatus for making softgel capsules comprising: two extrusion nozzles two cooling and tension rollers two rotary dies a wedge and a filling station. A method is also provided for for producing softgel capsules, comprising the steps of: (a) softening or melting a suitable film forming composition (b) extruding said suitable film forming composition through two extrusion dies directly into two tension rollers (c) passing the extruded films over rotating dies (d) simultaneously forming, filling, heat-sealing and cutting capsules and (e) washing and drying said capsules.
