PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image processing system for CT image quality improvement and/or for CT dose reduction, using a successive approximation method such as Total Variation method, the system efficiently improving the quality of three-dimensional image.SOLUTION: The system reduces CT image noise after CT reconstruction using the successive approximation method to improve CT image quality and/or reduce CT dose. The system includes a means for: continuously applying the result of tomographic image processing by setting one or more successive approximation parameters of the reconstructed CT image, in the whole Volume Data of the CT examination, which is a tomographic assembly in real time, and continuously when required reflecting the result in a three-dimensional image constructed by Volume Rendering or the like in real time, and continuously when required interactively changing the setting of the parameters and efficiently obtaining a desired quality of three-dimensional image and optimal parameter setting.COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT【課題】Total Variation法等に代表される逐次近似法を用いてCT画像の高画質化、又はCT撮影時の低線量化の一方或いは双方を可能にする医療用画像処理システムにおいて、3次元表示画像の画質を効率的に改善する。【解決手段】逐次近似法を用いてCT再構成処理後のCT画像のノイズを低減することにより、CT画像の高画質化又はCT撮影時の低線量化の一方或いは双方を可能にするシステムにおいて、再構成後のCT画像の逐次近似法の単数又は複数のパラメータ設定による断層画像処理の結果を断層画像の集合体である該CT検査のVolume Data全体にリアルタイムに、必要に応じて連続的に適用し、それと同時にリアルタイムに、必要に応じて連続的にVolume Rendering等で構築した3次元画像に反映させ、対話的にパラメータ設定を変更して、所望の3次元表示画像の画質と最適なパラメータ設定を効率的に得る手段を備えた。【選択図】図5
