PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dental instrument capable of simplifying sterilization treatment of an oral operation part after the use, and a manufacturing method for the dental instrument.SOLUTION: A dental instrument 10 includes an oral operation part 11 having a backing material 13 and a sterilization function layer 14 superposed on the surface of the backing material 13, where the sterilization function layer 14 is formed by thermal spray of particles including photocatalyst. Preferably, the surface of the sterilization function layer 14 is subjected to polishing treatment.
