A catheter placement system (10) for inserting a catheter (72) into a patient's vasculature (70), comprising: a console (20)； a removable positionable stylet (120) within a catheter lumen, including the stylet: a magnetic assembly to produce a magnetic field； an ECG sensor assembly to detect ECG signals from a nodule of a patient's heart； and a first connector (134) in communication with the sensor assembly by ECG； a tip location sensor (50) positionable on a patient's chest, the tip location sensor configured to detect a magnetic field of the magnetic assembly when the catheter is disposed within the patient's vasculature； a second connector (156) included with one of the tip location sensor and the console, the second connector to be operatively connected to the first stiletto connector to allow the ECG signals detected by the sensor assembly by ECG to be communicated to at least one of the tip location sensor and console； and a screen (30) for presenting information in relation to at least one aspect of the ECG signal detected by the sensor assembly by ECG: in which the sensor assembly by ECG includes an electrically conductive core wire (138) of the stiletto, the core thread in operational communication with the first connector； wherein the first connector includes a pin contact (170) in operative communication with the core wire, the pin contact arranged in a channel defined in the first connector； and in which the second connector is included with the tip location sensor, and in which the first and second connectors are physically connected by a perforation (175) defined in a cloth (174) interposed between the stylus and the sensor location of the tip positioned on the patient's chest, the physical connection of the first and second connectors producing perforation in the cloth and limiting the perforation to prevent a compromise of a patient's sterile field.Un sistema de colocación de catéter (10) para insertar un catéter (72) en una vasculatura de un pacient
