PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a freezing storage container capable of reducing the number of damaged samples as much as possible, allowed to be easily loaded and unloaded, capable of avoiding loss of samples due to wrong handling and allowing a large number of stored samples to be easily identified/controlled, when an intended frozen stored sample such as ampoule is taken out from the freezing storage container.SOLUTION: This freezing storage container is provided with a container main body 1 for storing a low temperature liquefied gas, a cap 2 which closes the opening of the main body 1 and is formed with a plurality of vertically through insertion holes 24, a capsule tube 4 inserted in the hole 24 of the cap 2 and an ampoule storage device 3 stored in the tube 4 in the state of being capable of passing through the tube 4. The tube 4 is formed with a plurality of gas permeable holes 41.
