PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon for a catheter which never causes a positional deviation due to the slip relative to an inner wall of a blood vessel in expanding it at a constricted site, shows an excellent insertion property in inserting a balloon catheter having the balloon, and has high pressure resistance.SOLUTION: A balloon which is attached to a distal end part of a catheter shaft and constitutes a balloon catheter is configured by integrally molding a cylindrical central part 25, a hollow conical proximal end part 27 which is connected to a proximal end side of the cylindrical central part 25 and has a diameter reduced in a proximal end direction, an overhang part 24 which is connected to a distal end side of the cylindrical central part 25 and has a diameter that is enlarged (it overhangs to the outside in a direction of the diameter), and a hollow conical distal end part 23 which is connected to a distal end side of the overhang part 24 and has a diameter reduced in a distal end direction.
