A lifting device for lifting an animal in upright position, the lifting device comprising: two or more pillars spaced apart from each other for engaging the animal in-between the two or more pillars. A beam provided in-between the two or more pillars bridges the two or more pillars together forming a frame. A moving beam provided overhead the beam bears weight of the animal when the lifting device is in operating condition. At least one actuating member is provided on each of the two or more pillars, wherein the at least one actuating member is connected to the moving beam for lifting the animal. One or more stabilizing elements provided on each of the two or more pillars stabilize the lifting device when the animal is being lifted for treatment or medical aid. FIG. 2
