PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material having high hydrophilicity and flexibility.
SOLUTION: The water-insoluble hydrophilic material is characterized in that it is composed of an inclusion compound constituted of a water-insoluble polyethylene glycol-based polymer and a cyclodextrin-based cyclic compound, and in that the cyclodextrin-based cyclic compound is present within the range of 0.3-30 wt.% against the water-insoluble polyethylene glycol-based polymer.
