PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the influence on a radiation image obtained by an FPD.SOLUTION: A cassette 13 includes a housing 26 for housing a detection panel 16 or the like for operating as radiation detection means. The housing 26 includes a front part 30 for covering the detection panel 16, a back face part 31, and a rectangular surface plate 32 disposed in a position facing a detection range 16a of radiation in the detection panel 16 so as to cover the detection range 16a. The front part 30 has a rectangular opening 30a. The surface plate 32 is attached to the front part 30 from the inside of the housing 26 so as to cover the opening 30a. The surface plate 32 is provided by laminating a plurality of carbon prepregs 32a in which carbon fibers are impregnated with resin and a metal foil 32b that is press-bonded to the carbon prepregs 32a.
