PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aerosol type foamy hair cosmetic that comprises a stock solution and a carbonic acid gas-containing propellant, the cosmetic having good feeling of use, foam quality, and moderate set property, and being capable of suppressing flaking when applied to the hair and being finished with a small residual quantity in a container.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, an aerosol type foamy hair cosmetic comprising a stock solution and a carbonic acid gas-containing propellant. The stock solution comprises: (A) carboxyvinyl polymer in amount of more than 0.1 mass% to less than 0.3 mass% with respect to the total amount of the stock solution (B) a thickening type water-soluble polymer other than the component (A) in amount of more than 0.08 mass% to 0.3 mass% or less with respect to the total amount of the stock solution (C) a setting resin compound and (D) a foaming agent.
