PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oral care composition that prevents generation of malodor and off taste in the composition containing stannous ions.SOLUTION: The oral care composition contains stannous ions, (i) a mint-type flavor oil, and (ii) a protectant component selected from the group consisting of: copper salts ascorbic acid cis-jasmone 2,5-dimethyl-4-hydroxy-3(2H)-furanone 5-ethyl-3-hydroxy-4-methyl-2(5H)-furanone vanillin ethyl vanillin anisaldehyde 3,4-methylenedioxybenzaldehyde 3,4-dimethoxybenzaldehyde 4-hydroxybenzaldehyde 2-methyoxybenzaldehyde benzaldehyde cinnamaldehyde hexyl cinnamaldehyde α-methyl cinnamaldehyde ortho-methoxy cinnamaldehyde α-amyl cinnamaldehyde and combinations thereof. The ratio (ii):(i) is 2:1 to 1:300 by weight.
