An injection device (100) for injection of a medicament from a pre-filled container (10) having a container body (12) for containing the medicament, a needle (16) disposed at a distal end of the container body (12), a removable needle shield (30) and a stopper (22) for expelling medicament from the container (100), the device comprising a housing (110) for housing the container (10), a plunger (142) for driving the stopper (22) of the container (10) in a distal direction to expel the medicament, and a priming mechanism having an operating member (152) which is movable with respect to the housing (110).
