A syringe (1) includes a barrel (10), a plunger, an injection needle (30), and an injection needle safety instrument (40). The injection needle safety instrument (40) has a base portion (41) fixed to the barrel (10), a cover portion (42) which can cover a pointed end of a needle tube (31) included in the injection needle (30), and a hinge portion (43) which pivotably couples the base portion (41) and the cover portion (42) to each other. The cover portion (42) is constructed to be pivotable between a first position at which the cover portion is held to the base portion (41) as a first locked portion (42c) is locked by a locking portion (41c) of the base portion (41) and a second position at which the cover portion covers the pointed end of the needle tube (31) and is held to the injection needle (30) as a second locked portion (42b) is locked to the injection needle (30). The cover portion (42) is tilted toward the barrel (10) while it is arranged in the first position.
