Method for removal of sprouts from sprouted tubers includes the step of applying the composition to said tuber, containing at least 50 % limonene, expressed as the weight of limonene with respect to the total weight of the composition, in an amount effective to remove said sprouts. This effective amount corresponds to a dosage of limonene from 30 to 400 ml per ton of tubers.
