The metering device includes a metering container which is designed to measure off a quantity of the medium and which has a first region and a second region. The first region is separated from the second region by a movable separating element. The separating element has a first contact face, which is directed towards the first region and delimits or closes off the first region. The separating element also has a second contact face, which is directed toward the second region and delimits or closes off the second region. The first contact face and the second contact face have different surface dimensions.
