A header assembly (10) is described for a harvesting machine having a header (12) comprising a primary cutter head (14) for cutting the crop, and a feeder (15) for feeding the cut crop into the mouth of a crop processing mechanism. The assembly further comprises a secondary scissor-action cutter head (16) trailing behind the primary cutter head (14) for cutting stalks left behind by the primary cutter head, the secondary cutter head being coupled to the rear of the header (12) and supported by ground engaging rollers. In the invention, the rollers include at least one support cylinder (22) having a circumferentially discontinuous ground engaging outer surface operative to perform a preliminary processing of at least one of the crop residue and the soil.Linvention porte sur un ensemble moissonneuse (10) pour une machine à moissonner, lequel ensemble a une moissonneuse (12) comprenant une tête de coupe primaire (14) pour couper la récolte, et un dispositif dalimentation (15) pour introduire la récolte coupée dans lembouchure dun mécanisme de traitement de récolte. Selon linvention, les rouleaux comprennent au moins un cylindre de support (22) ayant une surface externe de prise avec le sol circonférentiellement discontinue agissant de façon à effectuer un traitement préliminaire dau moins lun du résidu de culture et du sol.
