Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine neue chemische Verbindung der Formel (I) sowie deren pharmazeutisch annehmbare Salze, Derivate und Ester. Zudem betrifft die Erfindung auch ein Verfahren zur Isolierung der Verbindung gemäß Formel (I) aus Rotbusch-Rohware. Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ebenfalls einen Rotbuschextrakt, der einen Gehalt an der Verbindung gemäß Formel (I) von mindestens 0,4 Gew.-% aufweist. Desweiteren betrifft die Erfindung die Verwendung der chemischen Verbindung der Formel (I) sowie deren pharmazeutisch annehmbare Salze, Derivate und Ester sowie des erfindungsgemässen Rotbuschextrakts als Medikament, insbesondere zur Behandlung von neurologischen und psychiatrischen Störungen des zentralen Nervensystems.
