The present invention relates to a compound of formula (I) for use as a medicine, in particular for use in the treatment of diseases mediated by the actvation of the protein kinase Erk1/2, such as neurogenerative illnesses like Alzheimers and related dementia, epilepsy, Parkinsons disease, Huntingtons disease, or stroke, and likewise relates to the pharmaceutical compositions containing said compound. The compound of formula (I) effectively inhibits the activation of the enzyme Erk1/2 induced by the tissue plasminogen activator (TPA) and also effectively inhibits the apoptosis generated by the ²-amyloid peptide.
