Provided is a hairdye which has excellent hair-dyeing properties, is easy to use, can dye the hair in a short time, and is highly safe for the hair and scalp. The hairdye comprises the following ingredient (1) and ingredient (2) together or separately: ingredient (1) is one or more colorants and/or precursors thereof, which are selected from the group consisting of colorants having a catechol structure, colorants having a pyrogallol structure, colorants having an [alpha]-hydroxycarbonyl structure, colorants having a [beta]-hydroxycarbonyl structure, and precursors of these colorants； and ingredient (2) is an organotitanium compound and/or an organozirconium compound.
