El equipo comprende un arreglo lineal de sensores de vibración que se disponen sobre la superficie del medio que permiten registrar el desplazamiento de una onda de baja frecuencia excitada desde la superficie por un vibrador externo actuando normalmente a la superficie. El método permite estimar la elasticidad de sólidos blandos a partir del tiempo de vuelo de la onda entre los sensores. El equipo es portable y de bajo costo.
