The invention relates to an aqueous cleaning composition having insect-repellent properties. Further, the invention is directed to the use of a cleaning composition for providing hard surfaces with insect-repellent properties. The invention is particularly directed to a cleaning composition comprising a combination of at least one cationic surfactant and at least one non-ionic surfactant and an insect repellent compound.
